The Massachusetts Senate election has certainly changed our perspective on what health care reform means in the near term. Will it mean reform will be more incremental than the bills passed by the Senate and the House? That seems to be the general consensus.  More

 The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Studies (CMS) hospital demonstration project, conducted in conjunction with Premier, showed that putting incentives in place or reimbursement at risk can significantly improve quality measures.

 The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has identified six steps to move to Medicare value-based purchasing. The CMS hospital demonstration project, conducted in conjunction with Premier, has shown that by putting incentives in place or reimbursement at risk significant improvements in quality measures can be achieved as shown in the Premier Hospital Quality Incentive Program Fact Sheet.

 Payment Reform and Value-Based Purchasing Models The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently started increasing health care value through design changes in Medicare and Medicaid. Historically, CMS focused on changing hospital reimbursement because of its large expenditures.
