2010 North and South Carolina CCRC Benchmarking Surveys2010 North and South Carolina CCRC Benchmarking Surveys

The North Carolina Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (NCANPHA), the Aging Services of South Carolina, and LarsonAllen have partnered to conduct the annual 2010 Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) Trend Project. Each year leaders of aging-services organizations use the survey results for macro and micro operational benchmarking.

The associations have different deadlines. North Carolina members must submit their data by April 19 and South Carolina members have until April 26.

Use your tailored report to compare to peers and act

Improving operations is always a part of a facility’s vision, and the condition of today’s economy has only heightened operational awareness in the senior living field.

Like past years, the survey results will be compiled into individualized community reports, which will focus on:

  • Comparing reimbursement, costs, and staffing to peers
  • Clearly identifying the top areas where your facility varies fiscally from your peers (negatively or positively)
  • Using graphs and charts to illustrate results and comparisons
  • Providing actionable operational statistics
View a sample facility report. Note: This document does not contain real benchmark data. It’s made up to show an example of what a report will include.

Protected data and pricing

Individualized survey results will be restricted to participants only. Per the respective agreements between NCANPHA, the Aging Services of South Carolina, and LarsonAllen, the data submitted belongs to those organizations that participate in this project. We will not use member-specific data for any purpose other than tabulating the survey results and providing tailored reports to each participant. For pricing and terms, see your trend project involvement letter or contact NCANPHA or the Aging Services of South Carolina.

Instructions

The survey input forms have not changed in recent years and will not change going forward; this allows facilities to efficiently prepare data for future year benchmarks.

To understand the information requested in each section, read through the entire survey before getting started. We anticipate it will take four to six hours to gather your data the first year you participate. We recommend creating an “audit trail” of source documentation so that in future years, you can leverage the collection process within your organization.

The survey is divided into five sections:

  1. Organization background and statistics
  2. Revenue and expenses
  3. Other questions
  4. Full-time employee and salary questionnaire
  5. Add-on questions requested by association members
